Anita Giovanna Rosati

Soprano

Austrian soprano Anita Giovanna Rosati, born in East Tyrol, lives in Vienna, where she sang Marie/Lily (Lang: Reigen) at the Neue Oper Wien in the 2019/20. She also performed this role at the world premiere at the Bregenz Festival in 2019, for which she was nominated for the Austrian Music Theater Prize in 2020 in the category “Best Female Supporting Role”. In the summer of 2020, she gave her role debut as Euridice (Offenbach: Orphée aux Enters) at the summer opera festival Waidhofen a. d. Ybbs, Austria. Future projects include Papagena in a new production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in Nancy, France, among others.

She is also a regular guest at the Theater an der Wien, where she made her debut in 2018 as Jemmy (Rossini: Guillaume Tell) under Diego Matheuz. She made her debut at the Wiener Musikverein in December 2019 as a soloist in Handel’s oratorio Israel in Egypt under the direction of Antal Barnás. In summer 2020 she sang Euridice (Offenbach: Orphée aux Enfers) in Waidhofen / Ybbs, one of the few festivals in Austria that took place in 2020 despite the adverse circumstances.

Other engagements include Minerva (Monteverdi: Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) and Taumännchen (Humperdinck: Hansel and Gretel) at the Theater Erfurt and Papagena (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte) at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar. She also sang Roles like Barbarina (Mozart: Le Nozze di Figaro), Sophie (Massenet: Werther), Sophie Scholl (Zimmermann: White Rose). She made her debut at the Philharmonie Luxemburg in January 2020.

Anita Rosati studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with KS Edith Lienbacher. She was a participant in the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival 2017. She participated in the 2020 edition of the Cesti-Competition, where she was awarded one of the special awards.
